MADDIE + SANDY

Maddie is so freaking stylish and has incredible taste. It was so fun to have her sending me pics and links to her dresses, shoes, and all of the details she was planning for the day.

I was so pumped leading up to the wedding because I knew everything would be perfectly styled. She did not disappoint! I’m so blown away at how quickly she was able to spin the situation into something elegant, intimate, and FUN. Maddie is super bubbly and a total sweetheart. Sandy is cool, pragmatic, and witty. I really loved getting to know these two and am so happy that I get to continue the party with them next year! Maddie and Sandy originally planned to have a large celebration in Astoria. After Covid hit, they had to change their plans in order to keep friends/family safe. They decided to switch to an intimate elopement in their home town of Portland, while still throwing a party next year, of course. They found the sweetest VRBO and got permission to hold their elopement + dinner on the property.

One of my favorite parts of this wedding is that Sandy surprised Maddie with an old Mercedes! He pulled me aside before the ceremony and let me know he’s be walking her out to her new car after they signed the Ketubah. Maddie’s response was priceless! It was so fun taking pics with the car and feeling the overall excited energy and surprise of the entire group. Maddie and Sandy took their new car on their 2 week honeymoon! What a dream.

A couple of other details I loved: The cloth draped over their Chuppah was used by Maddie’s grandparents and parents. They gifted everyone home-made masks! They hand-made all of their napkins. They had an adorable custom logo. Maddie’s dress was adjustable, and she started off with a big layered skirt and long veil, then switched to an amazing beaded cape. Each table received a custom picnic basket from the AMAZING caterers with smoked salmon, pickled vegetables, and different kinds of jams. All of the bread was baked by the caterers. The Ketubah was custom-made and was absolutely stunning.
